Another Brothers satisfied customer writes:

Dear Brothers:

I am not sure if I am contacting the right person or not but I trust you will pass this on to the right person if not.

I have owned my house for almost ten years now and the only HVAC company who I have ever called is Brothers. In that 10 years, there have been a  number of techs come to my house and I have talked to many customer service people.
These are some of the best folks in the world. ALL OF THEM.
They are always caring and concerned and work with us on our schedule. Just wonderful, good all round folks. People make a company work. Your people make yours work. They earn this customer’s trust because they do what they say, are on time and keep me posted as to the status of the tech coming to my house. I will never call anyone but Brothers. Your people are tops and they are welcome in our house anytime. There will always be a hot cup of coffee or a cold soda waiting for them here. And all you folks on the customer service lines are appreciated more than you can ever know.
Now to those two funny guys on the billboards and in the commercials. Thank you.
You and your people make my life easier, cooler and warmer.

Thank you many times over to all the good people at Brothers Air:

What professional plumbers make

What do you make?
BY DAVE YATES, PLUMBING CONTRACTOR
www.contractormag.com
Mar. 2, 2012 4:25pm
(reprinted with permission)You’re a plumber — what do plumbers make? This comes from a lawyer diverting attention away from answering someone who was giving him a good-natured ribbing about lawyers’ fees! Not that I haven’t heard this tired old saw a million times, but it’s one often deflected (by plumbers) by telling the joke about the time a doctor complained about his plumbing bill. (I’ll tell you what we plumbers make later.)

We make water flow uphill and sewage too — if we use a pump, but we make them remain separate from each other by not making cross connections. We make mankind healthier by installing safe sanitary plumbing systems. We make ourselves go through continual training in order to keep up with changes to the plumbing codes and learn about new plumbing products. We, as have the plumbers before us, make it so easy for maintaining the welfare of humankind that our work has too long been taken for granted.

Prior to plumbers making plumbing safe and sanitary, contaminated water was the leading cause of death — up to and including the early 1900s. We make efficient use of potable water resources by offering our customers the benefit of our advanced training in the proper design of plumbing systems. We make a myriad of choices while sizing pipes so that hot water is delivered as quickly as possible to all points of use without pressure-issues that can cause imbalances leading to other issues, like scalding. We make suggestions promoting WaterSense (www.epa.gov/WaterSense) faucets that use less water more efficiently while not sacrificing performance, and toilets that use a fraction of the water, potable water at that, than did previous models. We make custom-tailored drainage systems that perform flawlessly while transporting the unmentionables you would never want to deal with — at any cost. We make stoppages go away without ruining your carpets, linoleum or kitchen cabinets. And if we make a mess in the process, we clean it up without making anyone ask.

We make fire and electricity behave within containers called water heaters, boilers, furnaces and heat pumps. We make complicated equipment behave efficiently by utilizing thousands of hours of training and we make adjustments to efficiency using highly sophisticated testing instruments to adjust combustion so that the money you make isn’t wasted. We make decisions, with our customers input, regarding which components best fit their needs, wants, desires and budgets. We make appropriately-designed ductwork systems so that air is delivered where it is needed efficiently and quietly and do so using techniques and well-established programs and training/certifications obtained from organizations we make it our business to join, like ACCA (www.acca.org) that build upon the Manual-J heat loss/gain calculations called Manual-D and Manual-N in order to create a system that is unique to that structure.

We make inverter heat pumps integrate seamlessly with buildings’ systems and make the designs that take full advantage of their potential to conserve energy. We make people comfortable by installing hydronic and electric radiant heating systems that provide synergy between man and comfort. We make the choice to invest in advanced training from organizations like the Radiant Professionals Alliance (www.radiantprofessionalsalliance.org), so that the designs we make squeeze every last drop out of the potential ECV (Energy Conservation Value) for peak ROI (Return on Investment).

We make geothermal systems that can be integrated seamlessly into older pre-existing mechanical systems or new construction. We make indoor environments healthier by improving IAQ and suggest you visit www.healthyheating.com to gain some insight into the depth of knowledge available.

We make the sun heat domestic hot water, supplement heating systems and make electricity. But before we do, we make a full-blown report using tools and programs, so that our customers can understand the cost-to-benefit ratio. By making an investment in advanced training to obtain my listing as a Pennsylvania Sunshine certified installer (whose work is subject to scrutiny and review), my customers are eligible for state incentives.

We make well water rise up from aquifers using advanced ECM motor-driven variable-speed pumps that conserve energy and allow customers to dial-in whatever water-pressure they want, eliminating pressure-swings. We make that well water safe to drink by filtering out sediment, killing bacteria, neutralizing acidity and by turning hard water soft.

We make utility companies cry by reducing our customers’ bills, so much so that utilities have sent their personnel out to determine why consumption has fallen so dramatically.

In short, we make toilets to flush without erupting their contents; drains to carry away human waste; faucets to flow hot or cold water that’s safe to drink; comfortable heating and air conditioning systems that operate using far less energy; indoor environments healthier; fire and electricity safe to use; and a safe environment for you and your families. What do you make?

Brothers Family Day at the Red Fez Club

by Sharon Tramell
It was our annual late Summer Family Day at River Bash, where the Catawba River meets Lake Wylie held on Saturday, September 10, 2011.  What a gorgeous day!  The temperature was pleasant, the water was calm.  One couldn’t ask for nicer weather!  The kids had a blast playing in the lake, participating in games and making snow cones!  Our fun natured founders played twister with the kids.  Christy Bolton and her husband, Lex, were the corn hole champions this year.  Madison and Katie once again knocked out the competition.  Many of us were able to enjoy a ride on the lake, wake boarding or jet skiing thanks to the generosity of our fellow co-workers.  The BBQ was tasty and desert was delicious!  Over all I would say that this year’s River Bash was a great success!  Thank you to all that worked so hard to make this day so special, it certainly was a day to remember!   Here are some photos.

All twisted up

As the dinner bell rang, we flocked

A sunny, beautiful day on the lake.

A funny story about dead batteries…

Hello,
I am not sure to whom I should share this message but I wanted to pass along a big THANK YOU and to recognize the gentleman who came to my home to service my air conditioning unit.  I had issues back in June and you all had come to fix them. This past week my unit went out and in 24 hours Brothers had a service man at my home. Jason, (I’m afraid I don’t remember his last name and I don’t currently have the paperwork with me at the time), was wonderful! (please note his last name sounded Italian).  Jason made me feel very comfortable which I am wary of being a woman alone in her home. He took the time to answer all of my questions which is much appreciated.
After checking out the unit, we had a laugh as the issue was my batteries were dead in the thermostat. The appointment cost me $89 for a AA battery change, however I’m not complaining at all. Jason could have easily taken me for a ride and I would have paid $2k had he convinced me to.  A.C. units are similar to cars – if you don’t know anything about them, you can be easily fooled.  I am spreading the word of Brothers Heating and Air’s honest customer approach.  You are a rare find this day in age.  THANK YOU, I will never use anyone else!

Warmest Regards,
J.P.

Bio-Clean really works!

It does work! 100% safe and natural. No chemicals.

Dear Brothers Plumbing,
I had one of your plumbers come and install a new toilet a few weeks ago and he suggested and recommended Bio-Clean for my slow kitchen drain. I had never heard of it before and he showed me the bio-clean video  on it from your website So, I ended up buying it and started to put it in my drain once a day for about 3 or 4 days. This one day, I was washing dishes when I heard a “swoosh!” and a fast roar of the water draining really quickly! I was amazed. It is completely natural and uses NO chemicals which I like. Thanks for selling me Bio-Clean.
Yours truly,
Mrs. G.K., York, SC

We like our happy customers

Just completed the survey after the tech left.  Wanted to say Jason did a great job.  He was very professional and explained everything.  In addition, the price offered for the special was exceptional.  I have 2 a/c units and a heat pump so it was great to have a deal like what was offered.  Thanks.  I will definitley use Brothers in the future and will recommend them to my friends.  I’ve told several people about the special.  Thanks again.

Summer's coming

Another satisfied plumbing customer…

Mr. Emmett came to replace a hot water heater after 5:00pm. He went into crawl space to assess the project. Yikes! what a mess he had to deal with. Praise the Lord, Mr Emmett was VERY professional in all his dealings with me. He explained everything he had to do and why. He stayed with the project until he finished at 10:30 pm. We now have hot water and an up to code situation in the crawl space. Thank you Mr. Emmett.

Load Calculation – It’s Not Only Right – It’s Code

Buying the right comfort system for you

When it comes to properly sizing the heating and cooling equipment in your home, many contractors go by either the customer’s current size or an old rule of thumb.  This is not only unethical, it is against the State of North Carolina Code Requirments for Heating and Cooling Licensed Contractors.  Why does it make a difference what size a contractor puts in?  The biggest reason is to ensure that any changes to the customers house, such as new windows or added insulation, can change the size requirements for the home.   The problem with putting in improperly sized equipment is that the customer does not get the true energy efficiency of the new equipment and it can cause the life span of the equipment to be shortened.  Look at it this way, which car would you want to buy, one with 20,000 highway miles or one with 20,000 in-town miles.  The choice is obvious, the wear and tear of constant on again and off again to a customers system will dramatically shorten the life span of the equipment.
